Netflix released the trailer for the highly anticipated season 5 of its hit original series Orange Is The New Black on Tuesday, revealing that the rebellion continues to rise in Litchfield Penitentiary as the inmates are now fired up and running the show.

Season 5 of OITNB is set to premiere in its entirety on the popular streaming platform on June 9, but fans can already start watching new episodes.

The first 10 episodes were leaked at the end of last month by a hacker who demanded that Netflix pay up or they would release the season to a pirating site.

Hacker The Dark Overlord revealed that they have access to upcoming shows from ABC, Fox and more from a cyberattack on Larson Studios late last year, threatening to release the content.

In an attempt to extort Netflix, the hacker said they have their hands on the new season of OITNB and would release episodes if the company failed to hand over an unspecified, but “modest” amount of money.

Netflix did not give in to the demands.

“We are aware of the situation. A production vendor used by several major TV studios had its security compromised and the appropriate law enforcement authorities are involved, the company said in a press statement.

But The Dark Overlord was not bluffing and went on to release 10 episodes of season 5 on The Pirate Bay.

OITNB season 5 consists of 13 episodes, so those who have watched the pirated episodes are unable to finish the season in its entirety. This is because the show’s files were stolen before the last three episodes were ready.

“This is a great example of why data governance is becoming so important. Final production videos are a class of information and the theft of such information poses extraordinary losses, if stolen,” Richard Stiennon, Chief Strategy Officer of Blancco Technology Group, stated in response to the hack.

It remained unknown what the damage this leak will do for Netflix, but since the last three episodes are not yet available, both those who haven’t watched season 5 and those who have will be tuning in.
